Shalom Farm CSA
What is CSA?
CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a growing social and agricultural movement that can offer a path to farm preservation,
stability and profitability, at the same time that it connects people with their food supply and builds community. Community Supported Agriculture
links the source of food (the farm and farmer) to the destination of the food (the consumer, or eater).
In short, it is a group of people joining together to share in the cost, the labor, the benefits, and the risks of growing their own food.
Everyone invests a certain amount of money, with an option to work or not to work, and then everyone receives equal portions of the harvest
for the season.
What can I expect?
- All members will be receiving shares of organically grown produce from June through October 2010 from our farm.
- Harvest shares will probably begin once per week at the start of the season, and increase to twice per week during the late summer & early fall months.
- Work hours for working shares will be flexible - as long as 40 hours are worked by the end of next growing season.
Membership Cost
Full share: ......................................... $400.00
Working share: ................................... $200.00
- A full share is generally enough produce for a family of 4
- A working share is a full share option that requires 2 hours of labor per week for the 20-week season beginning in mid May through October
Payment Options
